Ahead of the 2026 Oasis Ball, Oasis partnered with Raz Studios and director Paul Komadina to produce the eagerly anticipated welcome video on the night

Entering the 80s with Electric Dreams the brief was bold, nostalgic and chaotic (in the best way), diving head first into the 1980s reviving truly iconic moments and stars from arguably the best decade.

Raz Studio founders, Mahmudul and Amy Raz were absolutely delighted with how the audience responded on the night.

They said

“The goal from the beginning was to create something that instantly immersed guests into the world of Electric Dreams and set the tone before the night had even really begun. Seeing people laugh, react and quote moments from the video afterwards was honestly the best reward we could’ve asked for.
A huge part of shaping the humour and personality of the piece came from our director, Paul Komadina, who helped turn the concept into something that felt cinematic while still embracing the absurdity and fun of the era.
Our Director of Photography, Ben McCullough, then brought that whole world to life visually through the lighting, camera movement and texture of the piece, giving it that authentic 1980’s inspired energy.
And honestly, one of the most memorable parts of the production was watching Mark Zanosov track down a true 1980’s Cadillac for the shoot. It’s those little details that really helped sell the world and made the whole production even more fun to work on”

They continue

“we’re incredibly grateful to the Oasis committee for trusting us with such a fun and creatively ambitious brief.
Their energy and openness gave us the freedom to really lean into the weirdness, nostalgia and humour of the concept.”

The Oasis Committee would like to extend their thanks to the entire Raz Studios team and Paul Komadina, the support from our production partners enables us to bring our theme to life in the ballroom, all while raising funds for The Salvation Army.

Sophia Taylor, Senior Account Manager at VML and Oasis Committee member says

“Right from our very first meeting, Raz, Paul and the team brought so much passion and joy to our brief which carried through the whole process. We were blown away by their dedication and the amazing attention to detail shown throughout the shoot.
The video brought the perfect energy to open such a great night.
As a committee, we’re so grateful for the support of not only the Raz Studios team, but also the wider WA production industry, who generously gave their time and expertise to help bring this project to life.
And a huge thank you to our 16 industry talents for taking time out of their busy days and stepping out of their comfort zones to embrace the colourful, iconic 80s characters they were cast as - legwarmers and all!”

Carma Levene, Oasis Committee Marketing Squad Lead added:

“This was really a labour of love to execute, with Raz Studios’ massive investment in production, and Sophia’s expert management of the process from the committee perspective.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the way it landed on the night - the feedback’s been phenomenal!”
