Ho, Ho, Ho 🎅
The final Grill The Marketer for 2020 was named Christmas Vacation, in keeping with our theme of using movie titles in our event names and we wanted it to have a more festive feel than our regular event format - but not stray too far.
Our attendees love being able to grill us with their marketing questions, and in addition we really wanted to make sure you (marketers and those in charge of marketing who might not consider themselves marketers) were celebrated.
This is a busy time of the year for marketing and it really takes a toll. That's why it's so important to take a break and be around other people who get what you're going through - including all the acronyms.
We kicked off Wednesday night by telling our audience about our feature campaign, Game On Mole. We were sporting our t-shirts and wanted to make sure people were getting the very valuable, and super ocker message loud and clear.
After some campaign tips (summarised here) we moved into some questions.
Some of them very broad - like what does 2021 hold for social media marketing, and some very specific; like how do I create more engaging content for a racking and shelving business.
Whatever you do - don't Google shelving memes. I've had to inform Clayton of the definition of shelving in this context and now he knows why some of us had some very raised eyebrows...
It's our own little in joke now 😉
Naughty or Nice?
My favourite part of the night was the Silly Santa. I could have called it Secret Santa since no-one knew about it but me...but we changed up the rules. We bought silly gifts, and guests were encouraged to swap them if they wanted to.
Some folks were thrilled with their original silly gift, Like Marianne Rom who is now the proud owner of an avocado saver.
Oh the hilarity!
What's new for 2021?
