Bali’s Nuanu City, a new 44-hectare creative city guided by its ‘search for the future’ has appointed B Corp certified global brand communications agency Manifest as its communications agency of record globally.

As one of the world’s most awarded creative independent agencies, Manifest has been tasked with overseeing communications with a primary focus on Asia Pacific for the pioneering project, tapping into its extensive ‘cartel’ network of freelancers and agency partners that spans multiple time zones.

With its 24-hr creative services, global outlook and commitment to purpose-driven work, the partnership will see the two powerhouses work hand in hand with its first project to oversee the official launch of the THK Tower, an AI-driven architectural wonder within the City’s walls.

As part of its scope, Manifest will devise and execute a communications strategy to drive awareness of the city, spotlighting a variety of its 32 active projects spanning education, arts & culture, lifestyle & living, health & wellbeing, and the environment.

With its primary focus market being Australia and the surrounding Asia region, it will also call into play contacts in niche verticals such as art & design, culture, technology, creativity, luxury and travel from across its vast global network.

Nuanu, meaning ‘in the process’ in Indonesian, is situated 20 minutes from Canggu and one hour from Denpasar airport covering 44 acres along the captivating Tabanan coastline.

Inspired by the Balinese philosophy of ‘Tri Hita Karana’ which translates to harmony with the divine, harmony between people and harmony with nature, the City promises a unique blend of art, nature and innovation alongside short and long term accommodation options,  an international school helmed by an Australian principal and an arts school which is free for local children.

All projects within Nuanu are required to contribute a percentage of revenue towards the City’s Social Fund which harnesses funds back into the 11 surrounding villages supporting cultural and environmental preservation, as well as health and social causes.

Nuanu offers something for everyone—from families and individuals to social groups, creatives, and artists in residence. Its landmarks include the iconic THK Tower, the globally reimagined Luna Beach Club, the larger than life Earth Sentinels by renowned South African sculpturalist Daniel Popper, Bali’s first outdoor multimedia park Aurora Media Park, an alpaca farm, the newly opened Lumeira spa featuring the world’s largest wood-fired sauna, the soon to open luxury boutique hotel Oshom, and the Eugene Museum, in collaboration with celebrated Japanese artist Eugene Kangawa, set to open in 2025.

Manifest Co-Founder and Managing Director Isabel Thomson-Officer said:

“I recently visited Nuanu at the end of July and I was blown away by its ambitious nature. It is unlike anything I have ever seen or experienced, it really is out of this world.”
“As a creative agency with a vision to build brands that change the world, Nuanu’s mission to inspire and empower ideas to cultivate creativity in arts, environment, technology, and design, really spoke to us. Aside from its state of the art accommodation and venue spaces, we were really impressed by its biodiversity programs such as its endangered butterfly and dragonfly repopulation projects, its local cultural restoration projects and its reforestation efforts, to name but a few. We look forward to spotlighting its many pioneering projects as we set out to showcase why it is a must-visit destination for lovers of art, culture, design, innovation and the environment.”

Hosting a wide variety of activities and venues that prioritise sustainable luxury, Nuanu provides the backdrop for a variety of high profile international events. Recents include Suara Festival (July 26-28), a music arts & culture festival headlined by Angus & Julia Stone attended by more than 9,000 fans over three days, and Coinfest (August 22-23), the world’s largest web3 festival which welcomed over 7,000 attendees.

Upcoming events include Nuanu Nights (September 28) and creativity conference Deep (2025).

Nuanu City’s marketing team is led by Head of Brand and Communication Ida Ayu Astari Prada. Growing up in Sanur, Bali, Prada is on a mission to bridge the gap between the new and old practices of Bali.

Ida Ayu Astari Prada said:

“We met Manifest earlier this year while they were overseeing the communications campaign for Suara Festival.”
“We were impressed not only by their strategic approach and global outlook, but by their connections with top-tier media across Asia Pacific as well as their approach to client service. We are a small team overseeing dozens of projects at a time and so finding an agency that could be nimble while still delivering on results was paramount. Since starting with Manifest it has been a really seamless integration as they really do act like an extension of our team. My only wish is that we had appointed them sooner.”

Nuanu City joins Manifest’s impressive roster including Trilogy Skincare, Suara Festival, Diageo, SC Johnson, Jellycat, and more.
