Neil likes to do "cool shit" but he's another one who doesn't talk about himself much

From hacking Football Manager on his Amstrad CPC 464 and studying COBOL and Pascal in the 1980s, to throwing melons at Canning Vale markets and running $80m plus projects at UWA, Neil Mason has taken an unconventional path to agency ownership.

His agency, The Start, has picked up national and international awards for its web work in recent years and counts Fremantle Arts Centre, Wesley College, Perth Airport and Perth Festival among its most recent clients.

He's been interviewed by Vouge Italia about his AI art, and help pay homage to David Bowie at the Perth Festival.

The Start picked up a Webby Award in 2025 for Music Website of the Year for RTRFM and Neil was there with his family in tow on the red carpet. More on that below.

His mantra is "Never Stop Starting™" and you'll have a lot you want to ask this self declared "awkwardly British" creative thinker and Beatles fan.

So see you on the 28th of May in our usual spot.
