The Australian Marketing Institute launches March & Mingle on June 6
Tickets are selling fast for the AMI’s first WA event of 2024, and there’s no wonder why!
Eat The Street Walking Tours experienced guides (lead by our Grill The Marketer MC Jacqueline Baril) will chaperone marketers through three Northbridge institutions to enjoy bites, bevvies and banter for a twist on traditional networking.
The AMI WA Committee (Olga Kozub, our own Carma Levene, Dr Violetta Wilk, Melissa Osterhage, Brannon Heath, Ligia Bautista, Christina Ng) have also invited special guests to accompany us on tour to enhance your networking opportunities.
The two new VIPs to add to the event lineup are Marketforce's Head of Creative Josh Edge and Fiveight's Head of Marketing, Communications and Place Miri Lackovic.
About Miri
Miri Lackovic is the Head of Marketing, Communications and Place at Fiveight. As the beating heart of the Fiveight brand, Miri is responsible for delivering disruptive, impact-driven marketing, communications and placemaking strategies that elevate Fiveight’s revitalised assets and drive a positive change in the communities in which they operate.
Overseeing marketing, comms and place for Fiveight’s complete portfolio, Miri embodies a challenger spirit and applies a revitalist lens to create a unique identity for each and every asset. A destination marketing expert, she is at the epicentre of connecting community with place through embedding a strategic brand lens that sets the vision for each project’s delivery.
Miri joined Fiveight from Vicinity Centres, where she was the Regional Brand Experience Manager (SA/WA) responsible for leading the development of a national model that transformed marketing operations and programs. Prior to that, she worked with JLL, leading marketing for ISPT’s portfolio of Perth CBD properties. During this time, Miri managed the redevelopment marketing strategy for Perth CBD’s flagship retail centre, Forrest Chase, creating a new placemaking framework that elevated the CBD retail precinct as part of the project’s destination marketing vision.
Miri has a Bachelor of Arts, Marketing and Media from Murdoch University. She has received extensive internal recognition, as well as industry recognition from bodies such as Australian Marketing Institute, Frank Lowy Fellowship Award, and the Shopping Centre Council of Australia for her role in delivering marketing strategy and vision that achieves commercial success.
A passionate leader, Miri has extensive experience leading high performing teams and positively influencing cultural change through her ambition for continuous professional development and growth.
About Josh
Josh Edge is an internationally award-winning Creative Director, creative strategist and writer, who has spent the past 21 years working on some of Australia's largest (and smallest!) clients, brands and NFPs.
He has gathered a few white hairs under the ginger as President of the Perth Advertising and Design Club over half a decade, which he now credits for giving him the appropriate gravitas to occasionally tutor and judge the next generation of creative talent at universities, TAFE and the Advertising Council’s AWARD School program.
He is currently co-Head of Creative at Marketforce with his partner in crime, Rikki Burns, while partnering on projects with creative, digital and innovation agencies and brands both locally and internationally.
In his 5 minutes of free time, he runs @thewaback on Instagram and @thebigmoodmusic on TikTok and YouTube.
He also likes to make himself a nuisance in the halls of State and Local Government with representation for creative industries, independent creative businesses, regional development and better opportunities for creative change.
Josh and Miri add to the already solid line-up of Rene LeMerle, General Manager - Growth at Bonfire and Sarah Sawdon, Head of Membership & Marketing at The Fremantle Dockers.
About Rene
Bonfire's award-winning General Manager - Growth (and Business Partner), Rene LeMerle, has been immersed in the WA marketing landscape since 1997. He’s a passionate advocate for ethical, sustainable, and innovative marketing and business practices.
Rene plays a key role in helping drive Bonfire’s future direction, with the aim of ensuring the agency is delivering industry leading impact on all levels.
Aside from his key responsibility leading Bonfire’s strategic growth, Rene is also an outstanding ambassador for the WA marketing community, as exhibited through his extensive industry engagements and contributions.
Rene is the founding chair of the Western Australian Marketing Association Inc. (WAMA) and is also heavily focused on contributing to the marketing community, with several engagements as a speaker, lecturer, panellist and contributing writer for industry publications.
He's also been selected to judge several industry awards and won the coveted Australian Marketing Institute CMO of the Year (WA) award on three occasions.
About Sarah
