The European Marketing Confederation (EMC) has established May 27th as International Marketing Day
The European Marketing Confederation (EMC) has established May 27th as International Marketing Day, an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the pivotal role marketing plays in business and society.
This day aims to foster pride in the marketing profession and encourage global marketing communities to partake in various celebratory initiatives.
A highlight of the event is the presentation of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for Marketing, honoring outstanding contributions to the field.
Celebrating Change in Marketing
The marketing landscape is undergoing profound transformations, driven by a quest for individuality and originality.
“To thrive in an evolving business environment driven by innovations such as AI, organizations must prioritize understanding and addressing the specific needs, desires, and preferences of their customers. By leveraging data and AI, businesses can offer tailor-made solutions that cater to individual requirements. This approach challenges companies to view each customer as an independent market segment, delivering personalized marketing and service solutions. The challenge: evolving and modernize traditional brand management on the one side, while building up capabilities for a data-driven customer interaction.”

says Dr. Ralf Strauss, Chairman of the Board of the European Marketing Confederation.
Modern marketing content should be personalized, contextually relevant, and strategically targeted. In this way, the individual becomes the “gravitational center of an individual universe,” with content orbiting and reaching them at the right time.
“This strategy encompasses all aspects of marketing, from processes and organization to data utilization and MarTech applications. The demand for orientation, high-quality content, and the exchange of best practices and real-life experiences is at an all-time high across various countries and industries. Today's consumers seek to differentiate themselves by adopting unique personal brands, moving away from the conventional 'average Joe' identity. This trend necessitates that products and services become hyper-individualized, from custom-designed clothing like Spreadshirt to exclusive experiences like Le Diner en Blanc. The future of marketing lies in creating 'me-products' and 'me-moments,' making personalization the key unique selling point, data-driven, at scale,”
adds Ralf Strauss.
Lifetime Achievement Award for Marketing
To recognize outstanding contributions in marketing field, the EMC presents the Lifetime Achievement Award for Marketing annually on this day.
“We are delighted to have many marketing professionals around the world whose expertise, knowledge, and dedication are driving the industry forward,”
says Alvydė Palaimaitė, Vice-president of the European Marketing Confederation and Director of the Lithuanian Marketing Association.

The winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Marketing will be announced on 23rd of May at the board of European Marketing Confederation meeting in Dublin.
Calling All to Celebrate International Day of Marketing
"International Day of Marketing is a testament to the creativity, innovation, and impact that marketers bring to the world. It's a day to celebrate our achievements, share our stories, and inspire the next generation of marketing professionals,"
says Martin Huisman, COO of the European Marketing Confederation.
