Grill The Marketer - October Wrap

Still so stoked about our last Grill The Marketer. Biggest crowd yet, awesome vibes and an eloquent and generous guest?! What more could you ask for in a marketing event!

Our guest on the grill was Cory Gale, Senior Manager Content at Tourism Western Australia, who's experience in and passion for the tourism industry speak for itself. We're not surprised so many of your turned out to hear from him - he's a true professional and a super nice guy.

We loved hearing about how Tourism WA approach content, social media and advocacy as much as you all did - and we are so honoured to continue to bring you the best of the best Perth marketing people to share their stories with you!

So many great questions too!

We discussed how to market events, what constitutes good content for UGC (and asking permission), strategy (and how to make it practical), measurement and reporting, Facebook ads, and getting started after graduating uni.

We chatted to podcasters, media trainers, SEO practitioners, marketing specialists and marketing generalists about everything from emoji use (I now have to write a book - me and my big mouth) to being agile.

We love seeing our freelance friends, our agency associates and our student squad. It was also amazing to meet some of our LinkedIn connections face to face, and introduce Facebook Group members to one another IRL.

Feedback so far has been that even the most senior marketers in attendance learned fact the feedback has been amazing across the board! And when they have to kick you out to close up, you know it was a good night.

Can't wait to do it all again on November 25th. We'll be announcing our guest panellist soon - but you really don't want to miss your last chance to grill us for 2021!

Big love to Cory for making himself available to us. You know you have picked a great guest when they so generously stick around for a chat and to answer your follow-up questions.

We're very grateful as always to Melissa for being our tireless MC, and Keith for manning the mics.

Thanks to Business Events Perth for sponsorship of our event via the Western Australian government and Henry Summer for being our venue sponsor.

Cheers to Harry Cunningham from Perth Podcasting who provided our winner (for being voted by the panel as asking the best question) a free 2 hour podcast studio session at their new studio on Vic Park.

And thank you!

Everyone who comes along sets the tone of the event and takes it in the direction of their questions - which is why they're all so different (and why you need to come to all of them). We're so proud of our audience of marketers who thrive on collaboration and community.

Make sure you don't miss any of the action - sign up to our mailing list, chuck us a follow on Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn. And if you've got marketing crew you think would appreciate us, share away friends!
